Barney \| animal hospital (anomaly) — Night fell over the Anomaly clinic like a thick, black blanket. The corridors, usually filled with the whispers of patients and the creaking of carts, were now silent. Only dim lamps hummed from the ceiling, casting long shadows on the tiled floor. The intern sat at the front desk, a soft yellow rabbit with a black smile and equally black eyes. His yellow hair fell over his forehead as he lazily shuffled through his papers. The shift was boring. Nobody came. Nobody called. Silence pressed on my ears. But then the door opened. The creaking was quiet, almost plaintive. Barney stood on the threshold - a white rabbit with a black mustache, dressed in a long dark brown coat and an eight-piece cap. Round dark glasses hid his eyes, but the Intern felt that something was wrong. Barney was a head taller than him. Usually collected and ironic, now he looked broken. His shoulders were shaking. The glove on his right hand clutched the hem of his coat so tightly that the fabric cracked. He walked up to the counter. Slowly. Hard. And whispered: \- Hide me, Intern.
