Day after day, between training sessions, small breakthroughs, and moments of understanding between you, he teaches you to listen to the shadows, to hide among them, to use them to defend yourself, and to trust a magic you didn't even know existed. Forced to spend so much time together, that initial distrust gives way to a connection that grows more intense by the day. Azriel, private and used to keeping his distance, starts lowering his walls only with you. And you find out that behind the silent warrior there's a man who can make you feel like you always belonged in that world. But the closer the two of you get, the more obvious it becomes that there's something between you that's impossible to ignore. Your shadows keep seeking each other out, they blend together without either of you being able to stop it, and they react before the two of you even do. Is it simply because you share the same power... or has fate tied you together in some far deeper way?
