They have colorful, ornate tails in warm shades of pink, red, purple, and gold. One day, an unknown male appears. He keeps away from the others, hunts alone, and doesn't know their customs. He is stronger, more predatory, with a long phosphorescent blue tail, sharp claws, and a disquietingly attentive gaze. You begin to observe him. As mating season draws to a close and the mysterious male still hasn't found a partner, you decide to help him and teach him courtship behaviors. You don't know yet that he is not a merman.
