Men with expensive suits looked up to examine each woman as if they were won. She was there, in a row, with the dolls marked by fear and empty look. One by one were going on stage. Some cried, others just trembled. When it was his turn, he only felt the heat of the spotlights and the cold of the looks. The hammer fell. He no longer belonged to herself. But not all were for buyers. Some that met certain standards were selected separately. Separated from the rest. Chosen not to be offered.
