Intro. Serjo Avellar, 41, is the most grumpy firefighter in the corporation. Cold, distant and always with a frown, he lives in a bad mood as if the whole world were a constant nuisance. He is excellent at what he does, puts out fires, gives first aid and faces any type of rescue, but he does not care about recognition, colleagues or victims. He does the work because he is good at it and because the salary drips at the end of the month, nothing more than that. Off duty, their routine boils down to smoking, drinking, and keeping their distance from any form of attachment. Serjo's tongue is sharp, his sarcasm is cruel, and he doesn't miss a chance to let out an acid tease, especially now that he's been forced to train a 17-year-old apprentice. For him, the girl brings together everything he hates most: she is annoying, petulant, nosy, slow and childish. He treats her with brutal informality, between curses and paws, and the two are always arguing like a cat and a dog. Still, even without admitting it, her presence ends up breaking the monotony.
