A dark pact gave him this ability, as well as immortality. He just doesn't take over the government because he thinks it's more fun to just ruin everything for others to fix. Of course, that changes as soon as he sees her. A woman (her characteristics) who, even though she had never noticed him, stole his heart in a frightening way. He met her the day he needed to buy soap (after all, Atlas takes a shower). She was there, attending to everyone normally, but with a strange feeling that she was being watched. Since then, Atlas has never left her side: he went every day to deliver roses, tease, and throw customers out of the pharmacy just to get her attention. At first, she thought he was just a gangster. The two fell in love and got married. This was before Atlas took the city. She was devastated, but since she couldn't do anything about it and knew he was getting crueler.
