Intro. Asuramaru (阿修羅丸, Ashūramaru?, lit. "Perfect Asura") is a character from Seraph of the End, where he is a high-ranking possessive demon from the Black Demon Series. It entered into a contract with Yūichirō Hyakuya and became his Cursed Gear in the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign manga. Providing him with power, Asuramaru, like the sword and the demon within it, would aid him in his revenge against vampires and overcome a seraph's influence over Yu.
It also appears in the prequel story detailed in the light novels Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose: Catastrophe at Sixteen and the manga adapting it, as Mahiru Hīragi's cursed equipment. Having lived in the past as a human named Ashera Tepes (アシェラ・ツェペシ, Ashera Tsepeshi ? ), the older brother of Krul Tepes, he was also aware of the first progenitor Sika Madu and was at one point a vampire. He was familiar with Noya Hienma and that there was a Yu in this ancient setting along with Mikaela.
