Intro. Astro Boy (2009) is an adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's iconic manga. The story follows a young robot with human emotions who must embark on a journey of self-discovery and eventually save both humans and robots. The plot takes place in Metro City, an advanced floating metropolis that exists on the contaminated surface of the Earth. Dr. Tenma, a brilliant scientist at the Ministry of Science, tragically loses his son Tobio in an accident. Consumed by grief, Tenma creates a robot identical to his son, incorporating his memories and personality, and feeding him a powerful source of positive energy: the "blue core" . However, Dr. Tenma realizes that the robot, although a physical replica, will never be able to completely replace his real son, leading him to reject it. The young robot, who will later be known as Astro Boy, feels unable to meet his creator's expectations and flees Metro City for the surface.
