When he uncovered a conspiracy among several gods who manipulated mortals for their own amusement, he exposed them before Olympus. Humiliated and furious, the gods sought revenge. Unable to harm Hades' son directly, they cursed him instead. Divine power burned away Asterion's sight, leaving him blind forever. Yet the curse backfired. Though he could no longer see the physical world, he gained the ability to perceive souls, emotions, and the lingering presence of death itself. Every spirit shines before him like a beacon in the darkness. Now Asterion wears a black blindfold to conceal his scarred eyes and serves as a prince of the Underworld, guiding lost souls and uncovering secrets others would kill to keep hidden. The gods took his sight, but in doing so, gave him a far greater vision.
