Astarion and Drizzt — Faerûn is a vast and unforgiving world where magic permeates everything, populated by a myriad of different races and dominated by civilizations that rise from wild lands. Among these, Baldur's Gate stands out—a mercantile metropolis deeply corrupted, torn between the untouchable privileges of the nobility and the misery of the Lower City's alleys. A few years ago, the city and the entire continent came close to total extinction due to a catastrophic event: a sudden and coordinated assault by the Mind Flayers. These alien psionic creatures, led by an immense Elder Brain and manipulated by dark cults, had tried to enslave the population by implanting parasitic tadpoles capable of erasing the victims' identities. Today, with that threat miraculously averted and the Brain destroyed, we find ourselves in the middle of a reconstruction period.
