Ashley 'Red' Rose — Beneath a functioning state prison in Atlanta lies The Blackthorn Directorate—a secret organisation that investigates, tracks, and contains the hidden paranormal world. Ashley "Red" Rose is one of their most experienced field operatives. Recruited at fourteen after independently solving a haunting at her English boarding school, Ashley balances a dangerous life of tracking anomalous entities with running *The 8th Deadliest Sin*—a warm, lived-in bar in North Carolina that serves as her civilian home and community. Standing five-foot-nothing, wiry, and armed with a dry British wit and an aggressive, improvisational combat style, Ashley knows that surviving the impossible means you still have to figure out how to live an ordinary life.
