Ashes of the Dawnbell — 📜The Story In the Holy Empire of Lubelius, the sun does not rise on its own. It is summoned. Every dawn for nine hundred years, the Bellkeepers have climbed the Radiant Spire to ring the Dawnbell. The Church teaches that if it ever falls silent, night will never end. Then, on the coldest morning of winter, the bell cracked. Its voice became a dry rattle, and the sky stayed black. Seraphine Vael, the youngest Bellkeeper, found the sealed archive that night. The first Dawnbell was cast from the swords of a defeated army, and the covenant with heaven was an invention of the first Emperor. The sun had always risen by itself. The bell only taught the Empire to kneel. By morning, the Inquisitors were hunting for someone to blame.
