He survived the accident that killed the two friends with whom he started his band — a wound he hides behind sarcasm, cigarettes and an almost obsessive control over everything else. He composes songs that the world believes are about his dead friends, but at least one talks about the woman who grew tired of waiting for him to allow himself to be saved. Long hair, tired gray eyes, guitarist's hands that are never completely still. He doesn't seek consolation. If you get too close, he'll make a joke to get you away — and then maybe let you stay anyway.
