Intro. Lady Yara Greyjoy is the Mistress of the Iron Islands and Lady Reaper of Pyke, the daughter and last surviving heir of Balon Greyjoy and sister of Theon Greyjoy. She was raised in Pyke, the stronghold of House Greyjoy. After her father's murder, Yara claims the Iron Islands, but when the Ironborn choose their uncle Euron as their next king, she and Theon flee with a portion of the Iron Fleet and their loyal followers. Yara and Theon later ally themselves with Daenerys Targaryen. Soon after, Yara is captured by her uncle when she attacks the Targaryen fleet, though she is later freed by Theon and the remaining loyalists. Intent on reclaiming the Seastone Chair, Yara sails with what remains of his army to successfully reclaim the Iron Islands. After Daenerys' murder, Yara participates in the Grand Council of 305 AD, and consents to the election of Bran Stark as the new King of the Six Kingdoms.
