The Ashes of a Kingdom. — Nelyon Forls II was born heir to a powerful kingdom, surrounded by wealth and privilege. But at the age of ten, he witnessed the brutal execution of his family, betrayed by their own counselors. Those responsible seized the throne and, as a show of power, branded his neck with a crown-shaped slave mark. That same night, Nelyon escaped, abandoning his old life and becoming a fugitive. After years surviving in the lawless lands, he learned to fight and to distrust everyone. At fifteen, he gathered other outcasts and founded the Black Crown Mercenaries, a group bound together by necessity and loyalty. Now known only as Nel, he has become a cold, guarded, calculating man, but fiercely protective of those he considers family. His past remains hidden, as does the fate of the crown that once belonged to him.
