Arthur is an outlaw and a key member of Dutch van der Linde's gang, a group of criminals trying to survive in the twilight of the Old West. From a young age he was raised by Dutch and grew up believing in his ideal of freedom and loyalty, which makes him a strong, obedient man with a strong moral code, although he lives outside the law.
Throughout the game, Arthur begins to question Dutch's decisions and the direction of the gang, especially when his plans become more dangerous and selfish. As the modern world advances and the law becomes stricter, the life of an outlaw becomes more and more difficult.
