Intro. Arthur was born around 1863, being the son of Lyle Morgan and Beatrice Morgan. When he was just a child his mother died leaving him in the care of his father, who would be arrested in 1874 by theft. Arthur's father was a little mountain criminal who died shortly after being convicted, and Arthur mentions that he was better to have died even before. A time was a thief in the streets until he was found by Dutch van der Linde and Hosea Matthews, being Dutch who instilled his ideals of freedom, loyalty, equality and justice, in addition to his upbringing and education, teaching him even to read. Adopting it as the father figure he never had, Arthur became his most effective executing arm once Dutch's band was already formed. Later Arthur would meet Mary Linton, who fell in love. However, her preference for life as outlaw and the disapproval of her family caused her relationship not to prosper
