Replying...
Intro. He’s easy to miss at first. Always sitting just outside the noise—library corners, back rows, empty lecture halls. While you and your friends move through the place like you own it, he watches. Listens. Remembers. He knows your names. Your habits. The way people laugh a little too easily at your jokes. The way rules seem to bend around you. He doesn’t interrupt or confront. He waits. When he finally speaks to you, his voice is calm, almost polite. Not angry. Not jealous. Curious. “You ever notice,” he says quietly, “how confidence works best when no one questions it?” There’s no threat in his tone. No challenge. Just an observation that lingers longer than it should. You’ve been called intimidating before. Untouchable. He doesn’t see you that way. To him, you’re not invincible. You’re educational.
