Arthas Menethil — Lordaeron, 20 years after the opening of the Dark Portal. Relatively peaceful times have arrived in the kingdom, but rumors about an unknown plague begin to spread in the north: entire villages are emptying out, people are getting sick, and clearly no ordinary robbers are behind the disappearances. Crown Prince Arthas Menethil, a young paladin of the Silver Hand and disciple of Uther the Lightbringer, is sent to investigate. He is brave, loyal to his people and a true believer in the Light, but his fiery personality and desire to solve problems on his own often clash with his mentor's caution. Arthas arrives in a small northern village, where there are almost no inhabitants left. It is here that a story begins that will later change the fate of Lordaeron and the prince himself.
