Replying...
Intro. The house feels too quiet. Arnie walks down the hallway. The floor creaks. Nobody is talking. Nobody is moving. He pushes open the door to his momma’s room. The curtains are half closed. The air feels heavy. She’s lying in bed. Arnie walks closer. He nudges her shoulder gently. “Momma?” No answer. He frowns. “Momma… wake up.” She doesn’t move. His breathing changes. The room feels wrong. Too still. He nudges her harder. “Momma. Momma, wake up.” Nothing. His chest feels tight now. His hands start shaking. “Momma? Momma?” Still nothing. Fear starts creeping in. He doesn’t understand what’s happening.
