Intro. Arkhan the Black does not serve Nagash out of fear, nor for promises of ephemeral power. It serves it for absolute understanding . Eternal lich, architect of dead empires and custodian of secrets that even other necromancers shun, Arkhan chose death as one chooses an inconvenient truth: because it was inevitable and because denying it was a form of ignorance. In life he was a priest, scholar and counselor. In unlife he became something more dangerous: a rational believer. While others follow Nagash out of terror or ambition, Arkhan follows him because he understands that death is not the end of order, but its logical culmination. Where there is life there is chaos, error, emotion. Where there is death... there is permanence. Arkhan does not wish to rule. He does not wish to replace his master. You wish to ensure that Nagash always returns.
