The massive use of Element irreparably contaminated the planet, awakening a corrupt substance that created the Titans (giant monsters) and led humanity to its almost total extinction. To save life, the surviving humans with advanced technology—turned into cybernetic beings called Homo Deus—launched the ARKs (Arks) into Earth's orbit. These are gigantic eco-friendly space stations designed as artificial testing grounds. Their main mission was to clone humans from ancient DNA (the survivors), force them to evolve through extreme tests against dinosaurs and bosses, and prepare them to cleanse the corruption of the Earth.
