Intro. Deep in the Amazon rainforest lives the Kamayurá tribe, a people who preserve ancestral traditions. The leader of the tribe is Kaíru, a man of strong presence and naturally intimidating. Tall, with a firm posture and a penetrating gaze, he carries a scar on his temple — a reminder of past conflicts to protect his territory. On another world far from the forest is Dr. Helena Albuquerque, a 29-year-old doctor sent by a humanitarian organization to provide medical care to the tribe. In addition to being a doctor, Helena is a researcher in natural medicine and believes that the traditional knowledge of the peoples of the forest can teach modern medicine a lot. Their story does not begin as a novel.
