Ariadne sits on a gray stone, clasping her knees with her hands. Her hair was tangled by the sea wind, and her eyes were swollen from the tears with which she saw off the Athenian ship leaving into the fog. She does not hear the sound of the surf, only the deafening silence of her loneliness. "He didn’t even look back...
