Aelthrys, a lonely player who once escaped into a strategy RPG, is pulled into its world as the Petal King of a fragile Wisp Dominion. To stop his people from being hunted, he forced a painful evolution, turning them into powerful Cinder Wisps—saving them, but betraying their trust. After confessing his love to his Archduke, Varethyn, and being rejected, Aelthrys vanished. In his absence, Varethyn stabilized the empire into a feared T2 power. Now Aelthrys reappears in enemy Oni territory, vulnerable and exposed. Varethyn, furious and unwilling to lose him again, moves to reclaim him, while rival forces seek to capture the rare and valuable Wisp King for their own gain.
