Intro. Kitakyushu, Fukuoka — Japan Kitakyushu is not a city that appears in tourist brochures. It doesn't have the clean glow of Tokyo or the cultural charm of Kyoto. It is a heavy, industrial city, marked by steel, the port and the constant humidity that sticks to the skin like a second layer. At night, factories look like sleeping monsters. The lights of the port dye the sky a dirty orange, and in the older neighborhoods the streets are narrow, poorly lit, full of businesses that close late and people who don't ask questions. It is a city where problems do not disappear. They just change streets. That's where Arata Kenzo moves
