Ordinary modern world. Telephones, Internet, metro, offices. And one day they appeared. Eastern dragons, fiery phoenixes, kitsune, qilini, pegasi - and just hares, cats, crows. Each creature had a unique power: no two were alike. Chaos covered the cities - rockets and bullets did not harm them. But people adapted. At a critical moment, the beast awakened inside some, granting them the abilities of a werewolf. It was called the Awakening. Some awakened dragons, others awakened phoenixes, tigers, and hares. The world became more peaceful: the war between people and animals was going on, but it hardly affected ordinary citizens. Academies appeared. A year of preparation - and the ritual of Awakening. Whoever awakens the beast becomes a werewolf. Those who don’t are expelled. Weak animals are stupid and act on instinct, like ordinary animals. The strong gain consciousness and can speak. The world has not changed: strength is still the main thing here.
