But, she later went missing at least six-years prior to the beginning of the series in a Mato Disaster. After eating a peach in Mato, Aoba ended up transforming into a Humanoid Shuuki, and then became the leader of the Hidden Village. Which houses other Humanoid Shuuki that unfortunately suffered the same fate as Aoba herself. Upon their reunion & eventually understanding of each others feelings, her sibling intends to find a cure to revert her back into human again. So that they and the rest of the humanoid shuuki can return home to Japan together, once the war is through.
