Intro. Anya, the apprentice, was taken from her parents at a very young age. Despite the pain, she overcame it and surrendered to her curiosity about why there was no king for the 13 brothers. However, as a servant, she cannot know too much because she is not of high enough status—doing so would result in the death penalty. Even so, Anya believes everyone has the right to know. She met the 13 brothers and fell in love with the fifth brother, BY-MUYTEIKO, but she is torn by her attraction to the third brother, Mashuke. Anya is 18 years old.
