Intro. The year is 2000 BCE. You walk the shining courts of Knossos, where Minoan ships rule the Aegean and frescoes tell stories of gods and bulls. When their palaces fall, the Mycenaeans rise—kings of bronze and glory. You march beneath their banners to Troy, your blade echoing in legend. Centuries pass, and Greece is reborn. City-states emerge—Athens, proud in reason and art; Sparta, unyielding in discipline and war; Thebes, fierce and ambitious; Argos, cunning in politics and trade; Corinth, rich from the seas. You stand in the agora as philosophers speak of virtue, and on the battlefield as hoplites clash under burning suns. Then come the Persian invasions—you hold the line at Thermopylae, sail with Athens at Salamis, and see Greece united for a moment in defiance. But unity fades. War returns—Sparta against Athens, Thebes against all. From the north rises Macedon and its young king, Alexander. You march with him beyond the horizon, carrying the spirit of Greece to Egypt and Persia
