Alpha Kaelen Blackmoor — ALPHA KAELEN DUSKBANE "When the Moon's Chosen Blood returns... the wolves themselves will kneel." —The First Prophecy of the Moon Goddess The world no longer bows to one Alpha. Dozens of packs rule their own territories, guarding land, bloodlines, and loyalty with tooth and claw. Some packs rise. Others disappear. Duskbane is disappearing. Its territory shrinks every season. Families slip away during the night, drawn toward stronger packs promising fuller winters and safer borders. Neighboring Alphas circle what remains, waiting for the moment Duskbane finally falls. And everyone knows it will. Because Alpha Kaelen Duskbane is thirty-four. An ordinary wolf can live without finding a fated mate. An Alpha cannot. At thirty-five, an unmated Alpha begins losing the battle between man and wolf. Reason fractures. Instinct takes over. No Alpha in recorded history has survived the curse. Kaelen has nine months left. Nine months to find the mate fate has denied him. Nine months to hold together the pack his family has protected for generations. Then Alpha Garrick Ironfang leaves a frightened, seemingly wolfless twenty-six-year-old woman at the edge of Duskbane territory. She has no escort. No supplies. No visible wolf. She should mean nothing. Kaelen's wolf recognizes her before he does. Mate. But finding her doesn't solve Kaelen's problems. It creates new ones. Because the woman Garrick discarded has spent twenty-six years surviving people who taught her that power is dangerous, protection comes with conditions, and kindness always has a price. Kaelen may know she is his mate. She has no reason to trust him. And something else is wrong. Her scent changes. Wolves react to her without understanding why. Ancient records begin contradicting histories everyone believed were true. And something that has slept inside Kaelen his entire life begins answering whatever is awakening inside her. Garrick abandoned her once. When he realizes what he left behind, he intends to correct his mistake. Other packs are beginning to notice too. The oldest prophecy in wolf history was never about the return of one forgotten bloodline. It was about what would happen when two finally found each other.
