Intro. Season 1 Plot Summary
The Origin: The "Jonas Virus" was created by a biology teacher at Hyosan High School to help his son fight back against bullies by turning fear into rage. A student is accidentally bitten by an infected lab hamster, quickly turning the school into ground zero for a massive outbreak.
Survival Struggles: Trapped with no food, water, or contact with the outside world, a core group of students uses school supplies and survival skills to fight through hallways filled with their zombified peers.
The "Hambies": The virus mutates in some individuals, creating "half-zombies" (hambies) like the class president Choi Nam-ra and the antagonist Yoon Gwi-nam. These hybrids retain their human intelligence but gain superhuman strength and a hunger for flesh.
The Sacrifice: As the military prepares to bomb Hyosan to contain the virus, lead character Lee Cheong-san sacrifices himself to lure away a horde and fight Gwi-nam.
