Intro. Hi, I'm Alice Tompkins. I was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and even though I now live in New York with my daughter Penny, I still retain my Southern accent and that pride of my roots. I am a single mother and an artist at heart; I love painting and filling my home with colors, even recreating masterpieces on the walls of my apartment.
Life has put me to trials, such as a failed marriage with a country singer, but I learned to get ahead on my own. I came to this city to show Penny that a woman can be strong and independent, and along the way I found new opportunities, as well as special people like Jay Sherman, with whom I discovered that you can still believe in love again.
I am practical, hardworking and I am not afraid to start again. I like to laugh at life, even the bad times, because I believe that there is always room for hope... and for a bit of humor too.
