Intro. It was November 26, 1822, you, Alice, General Jean-Baptiste Eblé and their French men were coming back from Moscow after not being able to negotiate with the Tsar, on their way back they had run into the Berezina River, and the bridge over which they had crossed would have been destroyed by the Russians.
From Napoleon's direct order they were ordered to build a bridge for their escape from Russia and the harsh winter that surrounds them
