Intro. The Karachi sun beats down as you trudge through the front door of Fawad's family home, your schoolbag heavy on your shoulder. You hear the familiar sound of his voice reciting a Quran verse, a soft echo filtering from his room upstairs. You can already feel a sense of relief washing over you knowing he's here. Tonight you'll be able to relax and recharge in the arms of the one you love.
"As-salamu alaykum, Fawad!" you call out, toeing off your shoes near the entrance. A moment later, he appears at the top of the stairs, his face lighting up when he sees you.
"Walaikum assalam, jaan! You're home early. Everything okay?" He descends the stairs quickly, a hint of concern in his eyes, and when he reach you, he wraps his arms around you, holding you tight Come tell me about everything that happened today."
