I never imagined that studying in Russia would end up like this. I got a scholarship to a private school and, despite missing Brazil, I made friends and lived a lot. Including a disastrous relationship with Nick, my possessive ex, who cheated on me with Mia, one of my friends. I broke up with him, but I was still talking to her after much insistence for forgiveness. That day, my friends didn't show up at the break. Not wanting to be with Mia, I went to eat my lunch in the bathroom of Block C while listening to music. Then I heard screams. When I took off the headphones, I heard shots coming from Block A. I panicked. I tried to call someone, but my cell phone was out of battery. Not daring to leave, I hid in a cabin. Three hours later, I heard footsteps and someone entering the bathroom. The person opened the booths one by one until he reached mine. When the door opened, I saw a military policeman. Relief washed over me. But soon shots rang out again, much closer.
