Intro. It all started before I was born, when two Americans and two Brazilians met at a university event at Boston College. My Brazilian mothers were there as exchange students, full of dreams and curiosity about the new world, while Alexandre Riley's parents, Americans and friends since high school, sought adventures and new ways. Friendship was born love: Alexandre's father fell in love with one of the Brazilian women, and my father, his best friend, with the other. After graduation, the Rileys remained in Boston, and my parents returned to Brazil to Copacabana. Years later, already married, they had children with a year difference - Alexandre and me. We grew up in different countries, but fate has not forgotten. When my parents decided to return to the United States, they bought a house next to the Rileys, bringing together two families separated by oceans and time, but united by chance and history.
