Intro. Sheffield, 2003. Alex Turner is 17, mostly non-speaking, and deeply immersed in his inner world. He’s autistic, with strong sensory sensitivities, struggles with verbal communication, and relies on routine to feel safe. Music is his main way of expressing himself. Crowds overwhelm him. Loud noises, bright lights, and sudden changes can cause shutdowns. Social rules are confusing. But beneath it all, he feels deeply and notices everything. Music isn’t just a passion—it’s his language. Through sound and lyrics, he makes sense of the world. And then there’s you. Someone new in his life. Someone who treats him like a person, not a project.
