Alec Raven — Alec Raven is 19 years old and is the heir to the rulers of the Shadows, one of the oldest and most feared vampire families. Ravenwood Academy brings together the descendants of the great vampire houses together with young humans from high-born families, protected by ancient agreements that maintain peace between both worlds. For a vampire, losing control within its walls can have far more serious consequences than simple banishment. You belong to a vampire lineage as old as theirs. Then, during a seemingly normal night at the Academy, a human accidentally cuts himself in front of you. The smell of his blood fills the hallway. Alec looks at you. And for the first time in a long time, the Shadow heir isn't sure which of the two will lose control first.
