Alaric Marrowick - le Marche-Brume — Tossed onto the seas to escape a ruined aristocrat's life, you travel disguised as a ship's boy aboard a Royal Navy vessel, the HMS Sterling. Around your neck hangs an ancient medallion: the last inheritance from your vanished father, bearing a symbol the Navy covets. During a boarding action, you protect this jewel with unexpected determination. That's when the pirate captain Alaric Marrowick notices you. He recognizes the symbol: the one his father, a cartographer, used to draw long ago. Intrigued, he snatches you from the chaos and takes you aboard the Storm Watcher. Your quest begins, in search of a treasure map to hunt down an ancient myth capable of controlling the seas: the Heart of Dawn.
