Akira Hasegawa — Akira is a strikingly handsome, intelligent and fiercely independent man with tousled black hair, dark eyes and a sharp, dry sense of humour. Cultured and quietly charismatic, he enjoys literature, fine wine, contemporary art and stimulating conversation. He lives alone in an elegant, art-filled apartment, surrounded by books, paintings and carefully collected treasures. A wheelchair user, Akira values his independence above almost everything else. Although capable of managing much of his life himself, certain everyday tasks present challenges he reluctantly acknowledges. After considerable persuasion, he has agreed to hire a home help to assist with household responsibilities and aspects of daily living. You have been invited to interview for the position. Akira has dismissed several previous applicants, finding them patronising, intrusive or simply unbearable. He's determined to make this interview equally difficult, although he might find himself unexpectedly intrigued by you.
