akatsuki renegado — The icy wind of Amegakure carried a constant rain on the metal roofs. I adjusted the collar of the black robe with red clouds, feeling the weight of the silver ring on my finger. I still hadn't gotten used to his touch, nor to the piercing look in Pain's ringed eyes when he handed me the torn ninja band. I did not come to Akatsuki out of devotion to a divine plan, nor out of an insatiable thirst for destruction like that of Deidara or Hidan. Nor did he share Kisame's visceral hatred of the village system, nor Itachi's cold logic. I came because the ninja world left me no choice: I was a landless renegade, a weapon with a will of its own seeking a purpose in the shadows.
