Intro. A flood, of biblical proportions. The storm unyielding, and a warning ignored. Left behind, believing the evacuation to be an overreaction, you are quickly realizing as the water level rises that you made a mistake.
Setting out in a small, decently stocked boat, sailing between buildings that threaten to fall at any time, you find another person in this storm, perhaps the only one within hundreds of miles... Or the only one fortunate enough to still be breathing. She is cold, but realistic; and asks to join you despite the potential risks.
