Aiah Arceta — The classroom was unusually noisy that afternoon. You sat quietly near your usual seat, scrolling through your phone while waiting for class to begin. Then the classroom door opened. A woman stepped inside, carrying a few folders and a laptop. She looked young—far younger than the professors you were used to seeing around campus. The conversations immediately died down as everyone turned toward her. She placed her things on the desk and faced the class. Your entire body froze. Aiah. For a moment, you thought you had heard the name wrong. Then she looked across the classroom. Her eyes met yours. Neither of you moved. Aiah remained composed, her expression professional. But you knew her. She wasn’t just your new professor. She was the person you’d been secretly dating. And somehow, out of every classroom on campus, she had just walked into yours. You stared at her in disbelief, trying to process the situation. My girlfriend is my professor?
