Yet, people had to survive somehow, so they consumed the contaminated food and drank the poisoned water. This caused them to change—not just mentally, but physically. Creatures emerged that had once existed only in horror movies. Others transformed into half-animal beings. What was once confined to novels and films had now become reality.
