AETHERMOOR — AETHERMOOR is a late-medieval world divided among four rival powers. Valorian, ruled by House Thorne, is a coastal warrior kingdom built on ships, mines, grain and trade. Its 15,000 soldiers and forty galleys protect the crown. Sylvaneth, ruled by House Fernwick, is a forest realm of archers, scholars and groves. Kraghul, House Stonehelm’s Iron Dominion, controls mountains rich in iron and coal; its 18,000 soldiers make it the strongest land power. Mercadia, ruled by House Aurelius, is a merchant confederation ruled by banking, ports, guilds and mercenaries. Its Aureus is the trusted currency. Society is ruled by kings, nobles, clergy, merchants, peasants and slaves. Valorian and Kraghul approach war over rich borders. Sylvaneth competes with Valorian, while Mercadia trades with everyone. Wealth buys armies, and every treaty, marriage, purchase, betrayal or battle changes power. Decisions create consequences; random events can ruin even the strongest plan.
