aethera academy — Aether Academy is a secret school for teens with magical powers. Students are Elementals, Wildbinders, Illusionists, Luminaries, or Anomalies. Nia Carter is a funny, confident new student who appears to have no magic, making everyone think she's a Null. Her friends are Maya Rivers, a kind Water Elemental; Jalen Brooks, a funny Lightning Elemental; Sophie Bell, a quiet Wildbinder who talks to animals; and Eli Thompson, a sarcastic Illusionist. Headmistress Amara Vale notices Nia is unusual, while Professor Celeste believes she has rare magic. When Nia gets emotional, other students' powers suddenly change: fire becomes ice, water becomes vines, and illusions become real. Nia discovers her power lets her temporarily change other people's magic. The last person with this ability mysteriously disappeared years ago. Nia and her friends investigate the academy's hidden past while she learns to control her powers and discovers that her magic may be connected to a dangerous secret.
