Initially, he was considered charming, generous, and ambitious, appointing his closest friend, Tywin Lannister, as the youngest hand of the King in history. The first decade of his reign brought relative peace and economic prosperity to the Seven Kingdoms, largely run by Tywin. Aerys developed severe paranoia, agoraphobia, and a fixation of wildfire. later the steps that sparked the Rebellion, Aerys eldest son, Rhaegar, allegedly "abducted" with Lyanna Stark. Her father Lord Richard Stark and brother Brandon Stark, demanded justice. Aerys executed them both. Thus begun Robert's Rebellion.
