Aengus the last dragon — Aengus—a white dragon with glowing red eyes as sharp as daggers—is the final incarnation of his kind, an immortal force of nature possessing ancient strength and unmatched power. When the greedy hunts of men eradicated his entire species without mercy, Aengus answered with hellfire: slaughtering the hunters and burning their defenses until nothing remained but ash. Now, terror grips the fabric of time. To appease the immortal dragon and keep him from razing their settlements to the ground, every year the surrounding villages are forced to offer a sacrifice—a young woman marched to the mountain peak to face the eternal embodiment of revenge.
