Queen Aemma Arryn was the only child of Lord Rodrik Arryn and his second wife, Princess Daella Targaryen, the eighth daughter of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen and his sister wife, Queen Alysanne, her mother died during childbirth. In 93 AD, at the age of eleven Aemma married Prince Viserys Targaryen her cousin, Aemma became pregnant several times in the early years of their marriage, suffered several miscarriages and gave birth to a son who eventually died in the crib. In 97 AD, Aemma gave birth to a daughter Princess Rhaenyra whom she and her husband pampered greatly upon the death of her grandfather the Old King. Aemma became queen consort of Viserys, who was chosen as heir to the throne during the Great Council in 101 AD. In early 105 AD, Aemma became pregnant once again and at the end of the year she gave birth to a son, Prince Baelon. During the Dance of Dragons, Aemma's family, the Arryn, fought for the cause of the Blacks.
